INSTRUCTIONS ON USING THE DASTA LOCK-BLOCK HOLSTER with a blocked automatic safety

A. Checking the holster DLB (PHDLB) holsters are supplied with a 10, 12, 14 and 16 mm wide lock according to the weapon´s trigger guard width (the number is imprinted under the Dasta logo).
You should check whether the holster is intended for your weapon by using the chart at the front.
Caution: Use the DLB (PHDLB) holsters only with those weapons, which these are intended for! The holster must be adjusted for a specific weapon before its first use.

B. Adjusting the holster The holster comes factory adjusted for the weapon that is color highlighted in the chart.
Before the weapon is inserted into the holster you must first release the button block (see letter F)

  • Adjust the position of the distance cube (10)
  • loosen the screw (17), possibly move both auxiliary screws and the distance cube (10) away from the holster
  • after inserting the weapon press the cube (10) into the holster in a way that it lightly touches the waepon
  • firmly tighten the screw (17), possibly both auxiliary screws
  • Adjust the proper length of the fastening strap, if the holster is equipped with one
  • insert the plastic spatula and the fastening strap between the Velcro of the fastening strap and the holster body (1) and move up or down as needed.
Caution: The less the fastening strap is pulled up above the top edge of the holster, the more release sensitive the lock is and vice versa!

C. Holstering your weapon - when holstering your weapon into the case with the trigger guard between the two vertical segments of the lock, apply pressure from the top on the grip panel and the weapon is automatically secured inside the case at the trigger guard.
- the securing is signaled by a distinct acoustic „click“ sound produced by the safety.
- attach the fastening strap passing over the weapon cock to riveted snap fastener (if holster is equipped with this).

D. Releasing and drawing your weapon from the holster - use your forefinger to lightly press the button (7)placed on the front side of the holster and at the same time release the riveted snap fastener of the fastening strap, if the holster is equipped with such and draw the weapon from the holster.
- both of the mutually independent safeties can be released simultaneously.
ATTENTION: Remember the safety principle that the stretched forefinger of the shooting hand (controlling the safety button) must always be pointed along the weapon´s trigger guard and not at the trigger!!

E. Fitting the holster on a belt 1. Duty belt holsters DLB/PHDLB have a plastic swivel hinge (OZ) with two slots for a 50mm wide belt with lateral and height adjustment.
2. Tactical duty holsters DLB are supplied as standard with a tactical hinge (TZ) with oval pad with one non-slip elastic strap around the thigh and one vertical hinge strap with quick-release attachment.
3. Tactical duty holsters PHDLB have a tactical hinge panel (PTZ) with two or three vertical fields and two anti-slip elastic straps around the thigh.
PTZ can be supplied with a single wide vertical strap (PTZ) or two narrower vertical straps (2PTZ). The wide vertical strap and both narrower straps have quick-release attachments for a 50mm wide belt with VELCRO secured opening.
4. Belt holsters DLB/PHDLB for concealed carry are supplied as standard with a plastic swivel hinge (OZ) or so-called paddle flap (Pd), which is inserted over the waistband of the pants
Note: When wearing a gun in a Pd holster, use a belt that ensures sufficient stability of the holster.

F. Blocking the button DLB (PHDLB) holsters are fitted with a so called button block via a blocking latch (18), which is placed under the button (7) and the ends of which pass through the recess in the safety button cover (8).
It is controlled the same way as the button with a stretched shooting hand forefinger via the stump sticking out in the button recess above its upper position.
Sliding forward (toward the holster ridge) blocks the safety strip and sliding backward (from the ridge) releases the button.

G. Holster maintenance DLB (PHDLB) holsters require no special maintenance. However, it is absolutely vital to regularly check the tightness of the screw seams!! Their loosening can have an impact on proper holster lock function and can cause the following defects:

  1. Loose distance knob prevents the weapon to be inserted into holster or on the contrary weapon is loosely held.
  2. The button (7) is hard to press (release) and/or does not return once pressed (doesn´t automatically secure weapon).
  3. Blocking latch under the button (7) cover is loosely moving.

H. Eliminating defects We correct the defects described above by

  1. Loosening all the screws on the front side of the holster in a way that the distance cube and the button cover can be freely moved.
  2. Adjusting the distance cube into the proper position after holstering your weapon (see par B1)
  3. Sliding the button cover as close as possible (flush) to the upper holster edge into such a position, where the button is easily pressed and then returns into its starting position.
  4. Again tightening all the screws on the front of the holster in a way that the weapon can be freely inserted into the holster, the button can be easily pressed and it returns and the blocking latch is not freely moving.
  5. Tightening the button fixing screw all the way once the button was removed and then turning it back half a rotation in order for the button to return back easily.
  6. Performing a proper inspection of lock function.
Caution: Distance cube (10) must not be pressed against the holstered weapon so firmly that it would be possible to pull the weapon´s cock during holstering!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE INSIDE-THE-PANT (ITP) HOLSTERS

  • Are designed for concealed carry of guns.
  • Are worn tucked inside the pants so that the clip clips on the belt.
  • Slip-on or fixed riveted clip made of quality spring steel comes with black or white finish. It is designed for a belt a maximum of 5cm wide, which ensures secure fixing of the holster because the protrusion on the lower part of the clip clips on under the bottom edge of the belt.
  • The ITP holsters for small pistols and revolvers with a 2" barrel retain the gun with VELCRO strips running over the grip.
  • Pistols and revolvers with longer barrels are sufficiently secured in the holster in the specified carry method as a result of the self-locking force generated by the pressure of the waistband on the holster containing the gun.
  • As a result it is not recommended that ITP holsters be worn freely over the waistband without the use of a belt.

Warning to users All firearms constitute a potential risk to life and health in the case of careless and incorrect handling. As a result we recommend that the following safety precautions be adhered to during the handling of guns and use of holsters.

  6. Do not holster a gun with a cocked hammer.
  7. Adjust the retention securing the gun in the holster individually as needs be (according to type of gun) using the Velcro strips so that the gun is safely secured against falling out.
  8. The riveted snap fasteners must be snapped together in parallel (on the side of the slide, not its rear edge).
